Tras unos años en barbecho, Clancy vuelve con la franquicia Jack Ryan, pero encarnada en Ryan Jr, ya que el padre está demasiado mayor para según qué cosas. Aprendemos sobre el funcionamiento de una agencia secreta paralela a la CIA, que tiene amplios poderes para seguir desde los flujos internacionales de capitales hasta las idas y venidas de los pasaportes en las fronteras. Esta agencia montará una gigantesca operación para atrapar al Emir, trasunto de Bin Laden cuando aún no había sido eliminado por tropas estadounidenses.
Clancy conoce a mucha gente en el mundo militar y dota a sus novelas de gran realismo en lo referente a detalles cotidianos de funcionamiento. Muchas veces se borra la distinción entre novela y tutorial sobre servicios secretos, lo cual me encanta. Luego, en lo puramente novelístico, Clancy se envuelve demasiado a menudo en la bandera de las barras y estrellas, cosa que para algunos es más fácil de digerir que para otros. Pero salvo los detalles ultrapatrióticos (momento slow clap y cosas así, americanadas totales) lo demás es absolutamente brillante. Muy entretenida.

Excellent. Typical Tom Clancy and I enjoyed it just as much as the rest. I've missed reading about the characters that have been a part of the Jack Ryan series all these years and I loved that he got them all together in this book. I hope there will be more to come.
