Given how much I adore Saga, I thought Paper Girls would be a no-brainer! But it was just ok. Not particularly mind-blowing, but not unenjoyable either. I think the story could go somewhere interesting, so I might continue with the other volumes, but I'm not desperate to do so either.

The story's fine, but the art and content read like young adults, not 12-year-olds. And three of the four girls are all drawn with almost the same face, so in some panels, I struggled to determine who was who.

It's a decent graphic novel, but not world-shattering.

Oh, I love this one!
The artwork is stunning and I could keep staring at these comics for hours. Its colorful images paired with a vibrant drawing style makes for great comics!
Then there's the story. Well, no spoilers here so let me just say it's really exciting and I can't wait to find out more of it.
The main vibe I get from this is Stranger Things but in comic form. It's also set in the eighties so that parallel is obvious. Well, the main characters, the paper girls, are all pretty kick-ass, so they remind me a little of El as well.
We already get some interesting plot twists that'll leave you curious for the rest of the story. You'll keep wondering what is going on as you follow the girls on their quest to find out.

A compelling read about four girls in 1988 pushing the gender norms by taking up paper delivery routes, complete with a timey-wimey sci-fi twist that was giving me apocalyptic vibes.

What the hell did I read? Sometimes books/comics are too smart, and I feel like that's the case for this volume.

Paper Girls deals with some crazy concepts and quite a few of them in this first volume definitely went over my head. However, the four protags are energetic, witty, and fearless. And at the age of 12, I wouldn't expect much less.

The Paper Girls definitely made this volume for me. I may not have gotten what they were dealing with, but I could empathize with what these kids were going through.

I'm definitely going to continue on with this series. It won't be the first time that I read a comic that I don't get for the characters alone.

And it won't be the last one, either.

I liked the art and I was going with the flow...until The First Papergirl started being homophobic. At least one girl calls her out on it every time she says fucked up shit, so I was willing to keep going.

It got really weird. Has a lot of religious feels to it that I don't like. I'm not good at following time travel plots and I'm not into it enough to bother continuing. Too bad.

This was a really interesting first volume! Our characters seem to be unique and interesting, the plot is really confusing and wtf but not in a bad way, and I'm curious to see where this is going to get!

I borrowed this graphic novel from the library, not really knowing what it would be like. It wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't bad, either. The story seemed to start well, but then, for me, just started to get a little confusing. It's fairly well-drawn, which kind of served to take my mind off of the fact that the plot seemed to be taking certain directions too quickly. Maybe that was to add to the drama of the story, but it just left me thinking I must have missed something somewhere. The cliffhanger ending was intriguing, but I'm not sure if I really want to check out the rest of this series.

I had heard good things about this and going by the synopsis, a graphic novel set in the 1980s and focusing on a group of girls on a paper route looked intriguing.

The 80s feel in this was great, the characters we're great, and I liked the artwork.

What didn't work for me was the storyline. I'm just not that into time travel / alt universe even if this particular storyline also fits well with the 80s theme.
