This was an interesting and entertaining way for us to have some holes filled in. We get the backstory on "that night" by going 6 years back in time. One thing McLean does well is write a leading man that you can adore. This time, it is Nate. He is damaged and rough around the edges, but that heart of gold is there, and he does not keep it hidden in Bailey's presence. He also had a great side-kick, Tiny. Another hard guy with a soft heart. They both showed Bailey so much care, and there was also a tight bond between the two as well. I feel like I will like this book more after we get the last installment, and I can see the big picture, because right now, I am left wanting more. Since I have read all of McLean's other books, I know that she will answer my questions and leave me in a good place when this is all over.
