One of the better books in the series. The major drawback is that the lore of the world, particularly things revealed in the conclusion, are not expanded upon. This seems to be a running theme in the series, and only gets more frustrating as the books go on.

This series is so much fun, PC Peter Grant is caught perfectly between the world of the supernatural and being a cop. It comes across as believable and so much fun.

Peter gets drawn into a missing children case that will have him a fish out his regular waters in Herefordshire rather than his home patch of London. He gains a variety of allies and has plans for the future by the end.

I laughed my way through and read chunks out to my husband and encouraged a fantasy fan at work to try the series, what can be said that's better than that?

Another top notch installment. Several laugh out loud moments. I really enjoyed the progression of his relationships. The new information about Molly was really cool and I enjoyed finding out a bit more about Ettersberg. It was well timed, well written and well needed! :)

My only complaint is that I've been panting for this book for months now and I sat down and gobbled it up in an evening. I want the next installment NOW. Strike that... I want it yesterday...

It's a good thing I'm not queen of the universe because I would be sorely tempted to chain Mr. Aaronovitch to his word processor in hopes of increasing output :P
