I am always happy to see two people get their HEA, and wow! the drama was high in this one. It was great to get more of Jack's POV, and to get all the details on what happened during Jack and Keri Ann's time apart, and we also learned a great deal about their pasts, which was really eye-opening. I especially loved all the changes in Keri Ann's life. It was fabulous to see her finally starting to make a life for herself and enjoy so much success.
Yay, I finally completed this doulogy! You'd think, it being just two short books, that I could've done that ages ago. Alas, I like to keep you on my toes so I didn't.
Confession time, here's what I got: I didn't remember much of the first book going into this one. I thought about re-reading it for a moment or two but then decided... nah. So I was a little fuzzy on the details, but this book did a good job bridging that gap. Everything was very clear so even someone who read the first book two years ago could understand.
My thoughts on Forever, Jack? Unnecessary. It's not that it was bad - but did you really need to split the novels into two for this? You could've had one great standalone instead! And don't let the 300+ page count fool you. These books feel short.
Forever, Jack deals with the aftermath of Jack leaving Keri Ann and how they come back together. I think maybe 30% of the book is a flashback to what Jack did in those months they were separated and why he didn't just come back to Keri Ann.
The rest was them repeating and rehashing the same weak conflict over and over again. If Keri Ann didn't pretend to be over it or determined to succeed in their relationship despite it, it would've been less annoying but the way she kept going back and forth pissed me off. It's like, this book could've ended 150 pages ago if you'd stop.
It just didn't have enough sustenance, you know?
That's not to say I didn't enjoy seeing this sweet couple find their happily-ever-after and being cute af while doing so. 'Cause... I really did.
Old Notes 3.5 stars In all honesty, I feel like this didn't have enough sustenance to be a solo novel (it might have been better if they combined book 1 & 2) because this entire novel had a very weak conflict to me that kept repeating and being rehashed even after it shouldn't have, but it was cute and I loved watching these two get a HEA :)
If you have not read Eversea (you must) then I suggest you skip over this review, don’t want to give anything away….
I’ll wait while you go read it ;)
Awesome your back!!!
Forever, Jack starts with Jack and what happened after he left Butler Cover. The Story starts off with him finding out Audrey’s secret and is livid. I felt so bad for him. Keri Ann has moved on and used her experience to get into school and start selling her stuff she makes. Well sort of, she is going to school and selling her stuff but her heart is still broken and she is so upset about Jack not coming back. But can they look past all that has happened and can things work out so the Keri Ann and Jack can be together?
Ok so I will be 100% honest I could have smacked both Keri Ann and Jack for making me yell so much at the book. I physically became hostile they drove me nuts. BUT I LOVE THEM and wanted them to be together. After the time I was screaming JUST TELL HIM and the other times I was yelling OMG GIRL JUST LET IT GO!!! I was a basket case, it was so worth it lol.
Once again I love Jazz and even Mrs. Weaton were hilarious. They are such great characters. I did not however like Joey, I wanted to but he was way to protective of her and tried to dictate her life even worse then the first book. I totally understand wanted to protect your little sister but to out right control her life was making me angry but that didn’t stop me from loving this story and love following along on the Journey that Keri Ann and Jack are on. I cheered them on when things worked out and felt bad for them when things didn’t. I really loved how the story ended and was super happy with the way things worked out.
I gave Forever, Jack 4/5 Stars this is really a great series, I enjoyed this book and found myself thinking about the characters after I stopped reading, I loved how she did the POV of the characters I have never seen it done quite like this. I had a very hard time putting this book down, I love a book that can bring out emotions in me whether its frustration or happiness, with this book I got both. I really look forward to reading a lot more from this amazing author, Natasha Boyd.
Poor, tortured Jack Eversea. I loved getting his perspective on things in this story. I did get a tad angry at Keri Ann for continuing to push Jack away, but their HEA was perfect for them.
