Nature is wonderful, but some of us would like to enjoy it with minimum effort. Well, this is the book for us. Here’s what the author has to say about it:

Let’s start out right. This is an Easygoing Guide. Easygoing means no sweat. Easygoing means no foot calluses. Easygoing means no overnight camping. Easygoing means no long, arduous hikes. These trips are for fun, not exercise. Their purpose is to stimulate the mind, not the muscles. Appreciating nature does not require dirtying one’s hands. There are plenty of books for fanatic nature-lovers. This is for more casual nature-lovers. This is not an encyclopedic listing of Florida’s natural places. To make this book, a site must meet the following criteria: It must be beautiful; it must be easy to reach; it must not require an inordinate amount of exertion to enjoy; it must not cost a lot of money.

This is the first of three volumes that will cover the entire state. Here in southern Florida we visit east coast beaches, the Indian River Lagoon, the St. Johns Marsh, the Kissimmee Prairie and the interior scrub. Then we head farther south to the Corkscrew Swamp and Fakahatchee Strand, west coast beaches, the Ten Thousand Islands, the Everglades, and the Keys.
