Nicole Blake is an indie author. She stays up all night writing her books, only dresses when forced to leave the house, and pours every ounce of herself into her romances. So the last thing she expects is to fall hard for a the cover model of her next book. He’s gorgeous and charismatic, she’s an introvert who feels super self conscious…and they couldn’t be more perfect for each other, except for the baggage they both carry. I loved these two! Nicole was basically me in book form (and with books actually published). She enjoys comfy clothes and keeping to herself, and it was fun to see her blossom as Alec helps build her self-confidence both as a friend and as a potential lover. I was pleased to see that both Nicole and Alec go through some significant growth throughout this one, because a relationship should never focus on changing one person and no romance should ever be without some character development.
Everything about this book was fun. It was like getting to see into an author’s life and then adding in most authors dreams as well, I mean who doesn’t want to hit it big with one of their books? And I don’t know many single authors who would pass a chance to hang out with a cover model. Other than a short story in the 2014 UtopYA collection I’ve never read Tiffany’s work before, but now I’m convinced that I need more of her books in my life. The writing is quick and easy to fall into, making hours go by in a matter of minutes.
I’m so glad I downloaded this onto my kindle, and I’m even happier that I have two other York books waiting for me including Writing a Wrong, the sequel to this one. If you enjoy fluffy romance with some great character development, then what are you waiting for?
