Trapped follows several different characters, we have the victim, the kidnapper, the PI detective, and the older sister.
Following all these characters was easy and it was interesting to see all the different sides of what was happening. The ones that had me on the edge the most were, of course, the victim and the kidnapper. The reason why the kidnapper was doing what he was was very dark and while I was expecting it to a certain extent it was also still shocking to me somehow. The victim was someone that you immediately wanted to protect and hoped she made it out of all this okay. She was so strong and was always trying to find a way out of this situation and back to her older sister.

“There’s a young woman downstairs who reminds me of you. She’s a runaway too, on the brink of making the wrong choices. I didn’t want to mention her until I was sure she was the one. Now I think she is—and I also think I got to her in time. So I’ll save her instead of you. With her, I’ll wipe the slate clean, make amends, and start fresh.”

Now the other two perspectives I found myself getting annoyed with. This was mainly because of how their portions of the stories seemed to focus more on romance and less on what the main point of the book was. It just took away from the story for me.

Overall I enjoyed this book. It is very suspenseful and I found myself having to keep reading to find out what was happening and why it was happening. As I mentioned earlier the different perspectives made this story far more enjoyable, getting to see how the PI was working to find the victim was interesting. The way the kidnapper was able to get away with everything for so long was also interesting and makes you question people's motives.
I did like the end of this book and I am thinking about going back and reading the first one and continue with the series as they are quick mystery books that don't get super dark.
