This book hooked me from the first page and kept me hooked all the way to the end. I was constantly guessing, trying to figure out who the stalker was - right up to the reveal. Cynthia Eden did a great job keeping me unsure and also making me think I was certain, right up until the moment I realized I was wrong. Oh and she gives you the stalker's POV a few times - which just adds to the creep factor. So good. I buddy read this with Brandee for COYER and I know she also loved it (she read it in like 2 sittings - which I would have done if I had the time/ability to stay awake).

Mine to Take opens with Skye going to see the one person that she never thought she’d see again. She hasn’t seen her first love, Trace, in ten years when he broke things off with her and joined the military. But Skye is being stalked and the police won’t help her because of lack of evidence. She hopes Trace will take her seriously, but she doesn’t expect him to handle the matter personally. Or for their connection to still be as strong as it was when they were teenagers.

Mine to Take wastes no time getting to the action. Trace and Skye immediate get to kissing and go back to his place. Her stalker strikes again and keeps coming. It’s nonstop! It was a very short read, but it also moves too fast. Sometimes the transitions between scenes are a bit rough or nonexistent. But I found myself unable to put it down. Skye’s stalker is very good and leaves no evidence other than little things that she’ll notice. He shows that he can get to her anytime and anywhere, even with Trace glued by her side.

I didn’t guess who Sky’s stalker was, but I was hoping for a bigger twist than there was. It did look like it was heading in one direction, which would have been excellent! It doesn’t though, which was okay, because that led to some other twist that I didn’t see coming and bumped my rating back up. People can be so sick and twisted!

I really enjoyed Mine to Take. I do wish that it had been a little longer, so that the scenes had flowed together better. But it was exciting and sexy and not overly predictable.

Uber Alpha alert!!! Trace was an Alpha to the nth degree...almost too much. But at least he finally said he loved her towards the end. There was no question that these two belong together but I think his character could've been a bit more palatable if some of his "possession" was tempered with his actual feelings for Skye. Good book and I enjoyed it nonetheless :)
