This collection of interviews was instigated by Louwrien Wijer's friendship with the artist Joseph Beuys and her organization of the "Art Meets Science and Spirituality" conference at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam in 1990. It stems from her belief that a meeting and cross-fertilisation of some of the world's greatest creative minds could help break down barriers between different disciplines - between religion, science, art and economics - leading to increased global tolerance and understanding. Containing interviews with H.H. the Dalai Lama of Tibet, Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, Nam June Paik, Robert Filliou, David Bohm, Fritjof Capra, Sogyal Rinpoche, Rupert Sheldrake, Francesco Varela and Harish Johari, these documents date from the period 1978 to 1987 and constitute an important part of the history of the avant-garde.
