This title offers a comprehensive overview of the compelling Port Huron Project by contemporary artist Mark Tribe. Created by contemporary artist Mark Tribe in an attempt to inspire a new generation to voice their concerns and get involved in politics and activism, the 2008 Port Huron Project consisted of a series of re-enactments of Vietnam-era protest speeches from six New Left leaders: Angela Davis, Cesar Chaves, Stokely Carmichael, Paul Potter, Howard Zinn, and Coretta Scott King. Each speech took place at the site of the original event, and was delivered by an actor or performance artist to an audience of invited guests and passers-by. This volume presents full transcripts of the speeches, as well as photographs.
