Another Expanse-novella, this one follows a girl living in a new world that has been made possible by the events in the Exanse-books preceding it. Whereas the other novellas have held their own somewhat, I didn't think this one did. If anything the story could have been a bit longer, but as it is written I didn't relate enough with anyone in it for any of the emotional events to pack much of a punch. Instead of a story this felt more like an introduction to a new element that has now been introduced into the Expanse-universe. An interesting element, sure, an element that does indeed make me wonder where the books will go next, but as a novella this story just didn't grab me as much as I would have expected it to, given the rather emotional content of the story.

Well that was very strange. I hope it doesn't take the series too much into a fantasy direction. I guess we won't find out what this means until book 9...

Otra novela corta de la serie de The Expanse. Metadona para los que somos adictos. No es lo mismo que la trama principal pero algo nos vale.
En esta historia vemos el mundo a través de una madurísima niña de 10 años que descubre unos animales muy peculiares en el mundo de Laconia, a donde ha llegado con sus padres en la primera oleada de científicos tras cruzar la Puerta (recordemos que Laconia es el mundo donde se ha refugiado el almirante rebelde Duarte de la Armada Marciana). La historia decepciona porque acaba demasiado pronto y explicando demasiado poco. No todo se puede explicar pero hay algunos elementos introducidos por los autores que piden a gritos una explicación que nunca llega.
