The Basics:
Sin City Vows is a Contemporary Romance following Christian and Lauren after she arrives in Las Vegas to work with his mother and to escape her manipulative ex-boyfriend.
My Thoughts:
The description for Sin City Vows is quite misleading. Lauren is in no way a "runaway" bride and there is no "I do" anywhere in sight. Christian is indeed her childhood crush, but that has very little baring on the story except for a brief mention when they're reunited at the beginning. In reality, this is romance between two people who never seem to be on the same page. Christian doesn't trust women, and Lauren just wants a man of her choosing after being pressured to marry her ex as part of a business deal. The two go back and forth from friends to lovers several time within these few pages.
I did have hopes for a fake relationship in Sin City Vows, but that also let me down. Lauren claims to have married Christian in order to get her ex off her back, but in just a few pages she admits to lying about it, and that's that. There is a brief mention of a scandal, which could have been interesting if it had gotten more page time to develop. Instead, it just fizzled out. Much like this novella as a whole. I liked the set-up, but it never amounted to anything.
