I actually have nothing new to say about the main trio. They’re all going through a lot, especially Connor, but they have been throughout the entire series so far. I’m very much looking forward to seeing how their stories turn out, and how they manage to come out of it completely sane – if they live through it at all.
We got another look at Cam in this one. I still don’t like him, but I don’t think he’s meant to be particularly likeable. At all. He occasionally provides good comic relief to my evil sense of humour, but otherwise I find myself wanting to strangle him. All the time.
I still love this whole dystopian world, and how it’s all eerily realistic in a lot of ways. People are horrible, and the people running the show in this series are some of the worst. We get to see a lot of the history of the world in UnSouled, which I absolutely loved. A lot of questions that I’ve had since the first book have been answered now. The backstory stuff really gives you a different view of what happened and how this whole thing came about. Particularly the people involved. And that’s all I’m going to say.
I’m really loving where this series is going, and I’m excited for the giant finale that I know is coming. I plan on reading the final book next year, which will be part of my quest to finish a bunch of series that I’ve started but not yet finished.
