Ok, so I totally stayed up all night and read this in one sitting! How is that I have never read this series before? And full disclosure, it was my first Abbi Glines book ever! Crazy right?
So, you have your typical over the top angsty teen stuff. Blaire is seriously beaten down-her sister died, her dad abandoned them, then her mom dies and Blaire is all alone. She turns to the father that left her but that only brings Rush and Nan into her life. Drama, drama, drama!
There is a couple times they have sex without a condom so I know that is bothersome for my safety gang sisters. There is no cheating once they get together.

Whoa! That ending and that secret. This is the stuff of good old soap operas and I loved it! Fallen Too Far had a great premise, a great hero, a great heroine, a mix of drama and humor and it was a great read. I am happy to be a late adopter, because now I can read book 2 right away. =)

This novel had my heart from the very first chapter. It was not at all what I expected. I was thinking it would be the young innocent virgin falls for the bad guy and love would triumph, but not from this author. Rush is a bad boy and he knows it. It doesn't stop him from wanting his new stepsister, Blaire, more than any other woman he's ever met. Blaire is young but has lived through tragedy and has her head firmly planted on her shoulders. Through the up and downs, the pair learn to open up to each other and even find love. But is it enough to get passed their pain? I can't wait to find out as their story continues in the next installment due out March 2013.

I loved this book! Although Blaire got on my nerves by the end of it. I was tired of her thinking that Rush was gonna throw her out all the time, or that she was going to get fired from her job.

She thought some ridiculous thoughts, especially at the end. Ugh, the twist thing! With Nan! And she only blames her father and thinks her mother is so innocent. Stupid girl.

This book took a turn I wasn't suspecting and completely ripped my heart out at the end.

Blaire loses her mother after a long battle with cancer and reaches out to the only family she has left...the father than abandoned her and her mother five years earlier. But what Blaire finds when she arrives at the address her father gave her was a raging party and a step-brother who was way too rude to her for words. With no place else to go, Blaire finds herself immersed in the world of her step-brother, Rush Finley and his group of entitled friends. But for a girl from small town Alabama, the secrets, lies and whiplash emotions may be too much for her to take.

As I read this, my heart went out to Blaire, over and over. From the abandonment from her father (again) to Rush's flip-flopping attitude towards her to the animosity she dealt with from the wealthy set in the Florida beach town she'd moved to. It's a lot for a nineteen year old girl to take, on top of dealing with her mother's recent death. But Blaire does have this inner strength to her that managed to help her keep her head high when she other tried to beat her down. I applauded her and her ability to stick up for herself. But my heart also broke for her when she faced the ultimate betrayal.

Rush was a mixed bag. When we first met him, he was a complete ass. But as the story moves along you can see a break in his a-hole exterior to the type of man he'd be if the crap from his family didn't taint his views and actions. By the end of the story, I wasn't sure who I felt worse for...Blaire or Rush, because in the end Rush had finally given himself to one person and had that all pulled out from under him because of his family. Sure he played a part in what happened, but I still felt bad for him because he was just a kid doing what he thought was right despite his mother's twisted idea of relationships/family.

I CANNOT wait for the next book in this series to come out in March. There is definitely some unfinished business between Blaire and Rush, I just hope family dynamics don't ruin things for them.

Fallen Too Far was quite enjoyable. Blaire, the main character was tough, assured and independent, not to mention really likable. One scene made me quite emotional, where Rush discovers Blaire has spent the week eating peanut butter and bread, whilst staying in practically a broom closet in the rear of the household pantry. Forever the optimist, Blaire is only appreciative to have a warm bed and the bread and peanut butter she keeps in her room, so she wont go hungry. That vulnerability is sadly beautiful and adds another layer to her character. As much as most seem to swoon over the sleek and devastatingly handsome Rush, Blaire is the real star of Fallen Too Far, and I hope she finds her feet.
