This collection contains nine short stories of varying length, including the one that inspired Hitchcock's The Birds. All nine stories are strong, which isn't something I often find in short story collections. When I was disappointed by the Richard Matheson collection [b:Button, Button Uncanny Stories|754250|Button, Button Uncanny Stories|Richard Matheson|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41%2BZ77owv9L._SL75_.jpg|740369], I think I was expecting something like this.

As with any classic, ignore the introduction until you're finished unless you want everything spoiled for you.
