This just blew me away with the amount of detail and care in the illustrations. You don't often find manga where the manga-ka sets asides a few pages in each chapter to just highlighting the beauty of the world around them. The beauty in how everything is portrayed is just...*chef's kiss*.
As for, the story is at its heart a story about a young newly married couple in the Caspian area during the 19th Century. I love that it not only shows Amira and Karluk as they get used to each other and the new situation but also how they interact with their family and their roles within it.
