The Boss and Her Billionaire has a fun premise, but it really didn't work out for me. Dylan needs a vacation, but instead of just going, he decides to join the dance crew for the local cruise line. It's there he meets Michaela, the cruise director and his boss's boss. There's an immediate attraction there, but then she states that hanky-panky between staff members is frowned upon. That doesn't stop him though, even when she assumes that he's gay. Obviously the two have to start a love affair, but what happens when Dylan goes back to his real life?

I totally loved the idea of a billionaire (temporarily) leaving his job to chase his long lost dream of being a dancer! Unfortunately, I never bought his reason for going. It's not so much that he needs a vacation, but that his jerk of a brother guilts him into going so that he can work things out with his wife. Because how is suppose to fix things when she keeps running to cry on Dylan's shoulder? It seemed like drama for the same of drama, and to give Dylan a complex about marriage and relationships in general. It was just really awkward and I didn't believe it.

Then there's the actual romance portion of The Boss and Her Billionaire. Again, it's awkward and I never felt any chemistry between Dylan and Michaela. He just stares at her with his piercing green gaze and she swoons despite swearing never to get involved with a staff member again. Their big fight--well, the first big fight--was completely premature. After making out once, she gets mad at him for telling the captain and risking her job, but he didn't tell the captain. It's a big misunderstanding, but he doesn't defend himself at all. Then he realizes there's a rumor going around about her and someone else, but she'd never cheat on him! Um, yeah, she can't cheat on you because you aren't together! Then she's upset that he's not the marrying kind, because...they made out once? I don't even know. Then Dylan has to leave the cruise early and Michaela is basically like "How dare he leave me to tend to his family?! Rage!" Uhh....no. Chill.

The Boss and Her Billionaire just had a lot of unfounded drama. I could not deal with these people! Then once the cruise part is over, there's even more drama and it's one of my least favorite kinds, and it's just taken to the extreme.

Billionaire CEO Dylan Johns is forced to take an extended vacation when his older brother comes home and decides he needs Dylan gone so he can fix his marriage and start running the family investment company he walked away from. Deciding he isn't the type who can relax and lounge on a beach with a book, Dylan instead auditions to be a dancer on a cruise ship. While he has no professional experience as a dancer, he's able to improvise and land a spot with the ship's entertainment team.

Michaela Western is trying to prove to herself, the ship's captain and anyone else who will notice that she's good at being a Cruise Director. As the only female cruise director in the company, she's finding it difficult to show how good she is when the ship's captain, a man she had an ill fated affair with, is destined to keep her under his thumb. It's not until she meets one of the new dancers, Dylan, that she starts to realizes there is more to her than she thinks.

Dylan has a way of melting the icy from the cool Michaela. He shows her the only person she has to prove her worth to is herself. While he's teaching her that lesson, he's also helping her let loose and have some fun...something that was lacking in her life. But Dylan was also learning that maybe all his preconceived notions about relationships and love aren't what he thought.

Michaela and Dylan both had to learn to let go of what happened to them in the past and figure out what was truly important to them. It wasn't easy for either of them, but they eventually got it figured out.

This was a cute, if somewhat predicable, story. While I may have known where it was going, getting to Dylan and Michaela's happily ever after was worth it.
