Lucky Break is a sweet second chance, friends to lovers, just here for a fling Romance between Sidney and Kade. They were best friends all the way from elementary through high school, and then Sidney ran off to L.A. without a word or a second glance. Now, she and Kade have returned to their hometown and all of the unresolved feelings are bursting forth! To say there's a lot of tension between these two would be an understatement. I liked how they actually talked things out and tried to make things work!
While I did enjoy Lucky Break overall, the ending just did not do it for me. My #1 pet peeve for Romance endings is the woman giving up her dream to be with the man. Sidney does this, but after saying it was never her dream at all. Um, she had mentioned that she doesn't like auditioning and the hustle, but that she loved being in front of the camera. This was a big cop-out if I ever read one. She could have taken the role and still got her guy! Or if it had been clear from the start that acting wasn't really for her and she was just doing it to appease her mother. It just didn't sit right with me.
