*I received a free copy of [title] from [publisher] via Tantor Media. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *Hell's Revenge is filled with a solid plot, mystery, suspense, some extreme hotness and lots of humor.
Story:
Hell's Revenge is a risqué story, in which Muriel lives with her two consorts, David and Auric. And because of her sex-based powers, she has to make sure she gets enough sex. Which definitely brought out both a lot of steam, and some much needed to help with all the break-neck speed action.
Muriel finds out that she's pregnant. Her up-until-now unknown mother shows up unexpectedly to share the news with her, Lucifer, and the two dads. Not only does she inform them all about the pregnancy, she also explains to them that she needs the baby once it's born.
Hell's Revenge is a fast-paced story, and while there are many steamy scenes, there is plenty of action as well. And there is the mystery surrounding The One, who has been after Muriel for all the books in the series. Most loose ends are tied up in this story, and Muriel even attracts another lover to her menage. While I found the vampire to be intriguing, I never really got a chance to get to know him, as he wasn't present in that many scenes.
Characters:
Muriel - the ultimate princess of Hell. She's a strong woman, she knows how to fight, she knows how to stand up for herself and the people she loves. And she knows when to ask for help, too.
Auric is a fallen angel, and I totally fell for him in Lucifer's Daughter. He continues to be a favorite of mine, because he tries his best to do what is right - but only as long as his loved ones are safe.
David was great in this story, and I loved how he would not automatically take anyone's side in an argument. He carefully analyzed the situation and went for what would be best for all of them.
Writing style :
Hell's Revenge is told from Muriel's point of view, and I love her sassy inner dialogue. There are also both action scenes and dialogues that move the story forward at a rather fast pace.
Feels :
Both love and excitement, and quite a bit of anger on Muriel's behalf.
Narration:
Estrella did a great job with the narration! Her different voices made it easy to know who was talking, and I found her pace of speech to be perfect for Hell's Revenge.
“No, my first question was actually ‘Do you want to die agonizingly or…well, really agonizingly?’ In my world, revenge wasn’t just approved of by my father; it was expected.”
“He’ll let you go when you can comport yourself as a lady.” I snorted. Like that would ever happen. “When Hell freezes over.” At his arched brow, I flushed and amended my statement, “Again.”
