"The Whisper" is the second book in The Riverman Trilogy. I came to the series a bit late, as it was interest in this book that caused me to read the first one. And I'm glad, because this second book is better and more interesting than the first.
This second book takes place mostly in Aquavania, the land that only exists because of wishes. Alistair is trying to find Fiona, but that quest is tied up in facing the evil known as The Riverman. What made this book so much more interesting is the creativity - the different lands created by different kids throughout the years, the creatures that populate them, and the journey through these lands that exist only because of a child's imagination. This allows for creative license while still keeping to the overall plot structure of the story.
While I did enjoy this book, I'm not sure I would actively remember and search out the last book in the trilogy. I would read it if I came across it - but I probably wouldn't make the effort on my own. I am just not invested enough in the story, and with so many other books out there and more being published all the time...? It was a fun read, but not a priority.
