Romance Schmomance

I can't say that I've quite read a book like this one, we got a mix of paranormal/fantasy with sci-fi and you know what, I actually like that combo. Once I was a few pages in, I went and bought the rest of the series because even though you can (kind of) read this as a standalone, you'll have a much better understanding with the previous books, read. That's just my assumption, but I'm sure I'm right about that one. I don't even know how I'm writing this review without reading the previous books, it seems nearly impossible, but I'll do my best.
Thorne, what a man/dragon you are! I'm still trying to grasp the idea of his abilities, but they're definitely way out there. I kind of feel bad for the guy, he's always caught up in his thoughts and just about everyone else's! It probably has him biting at the bit. I have no idea what Thorne is like in the other books, but I was definitely hooked on his character as the story went on. He definitely needed to get off of his high and mighty chair and GIVE IN.
Candy, you go, girl! She's your typical badass and stubborn at best! She's all action this one and doesn't quite think before she does. And that tends to get her into some pretty bad spots. Plus she's a werewolf, there's no messing with them! Throughout the story, her mission is vengeance among those who have betrayed her parents.
Throughout this book, I just wanted the both of them to give in! However, they held off for so long that it just made it much more amazing. Thorne is what I call a sponge, absorbing everyone's problems and making it his own. It's a constant push and pull between Thorne and Candy. But it's inevitable what they both want and not even time can dim their passion for each other.
Once I get through the rest of the books, I'll be revising this review because I'm pretty sure I'll have different things to say about these two.
Nina, I'm a fan and can't wait to dive into this series!
