A fine collection of crime, mystery, and suspense. The highlights were Celia Fremlin's "The Bluebeard Key", a five-star short story of psychological suspense, and a number of stories that deserve a four-star rating: "Great Aunt Allie's Flypapers" by P. D. James, "Boots" by Antonia Fraser, "Time to Laugh" by Joan Aiken, "To Have and to Hold" by Clare Dawson, "Love Affair" by Julian Symon, and "Little Knives" by Madelaine Duke.
