Before I get started on this review, I need to get something off my chest. My 15-year-old son has just informed me that football is more important than school. [HEAD EXPLODING!!!!] He’s got a cold and had yesterday off and now he’s telling me he should have today off because tonight is his last game for the season and he wants to go. Bloody hell, parenting SUCKS sometimes. I know, as a good mother (or someone posing as one), my response should be…SCHOOL FOR YOU, my darling boy. But, I kind of get it. Sometimes, you just want to be a little Wild, buck the rules and be all about the fun times.
Ha…did you see that? I didn’t plan on ^^^^ that, but I somehow tied Wild Like the Wind to my life.
I really enjoyed my journey with the Chaos boys and their old ladies. It wasn’t a particularly easy journey and I found myself frustrated, cranky and upset with some of the things that played out. I also found myself laughing, crying and sighing with joy in parts of the story. Seriously, I feel like since the Honey series came out, Kristen Ashley’s sexy times have vamped up BIG TIME!! This book was seriously hot. Not OTT kinky stuff, just the kind of connection that draws you in, gets your heart pumping and makes you shake, shimmy and shiver in delight.
It’s always a tricky subject when one of the characters loved the love of their life and have to move on. In Keely’s case, her job of moving on is a lot harder. She must bring up her beloved sons without the man who helped make them. Her blood family isn’t there for her, but, she has one better…CHAOS. This is a good thing and a bad thing. She’s surrounded by good, protective, caring men BUT she’s surrounded by good, protective, caring men…she can’t touch. Nearly 18 years have gone by and there’s one brother who she can’t touch but she wants to.
Wow, Hound was very different to how I pictured him. I’m sure there are other reviewers who have mentioned it but I don’t want to. See, I was completely shocked when he walked into the apartment next to his…and that is all I’m going to say.
I absolutely love that KA can give us a gritty motorcycle romance read without it being chuck worthy. By that I mean, no skank was degraded, I didn’t see anyone’s head blown off and I didn’t want to scrub away the filth after reading. Sure, there’s a wee bit of blood, skanks are mentioned, and Hound’s apartment was dirty, but that’s about it.
I’m glad I took the journey with Hound and Keely, saw them battle to their HEA and came out the other side to get a hint of Rush…
