Unfortunately, when it comes to books like these, I am in the minority, and I did not enjoy this book at all. The book takes place in a matter of days, so it was an insta-love that was never fleshed out or developed. I had such a hard time believing that the characters were in love because the hero constantly thought of the heroine as the annoying younger girl who was slowing him down. I wasn't convinced that they liked each other, let alone LOVE each other.
I also listened to this book in audio, and I found it jarring that the hero of the book is in his early 20s, but the narrator sounded a lot older. (Based on the cover, I was getting serious Justin Bieber vibes...)
The only reason why I finished reading this book instead of DNFing is that I was genuinely curious what would happen when the world ended. And, spoiler alert, the world didn't end until the very last chapter.
I should say that I LOVE apocalyptic books and movies so it's really surprising to me that these romance books miss the mark for me. But even though PRAYING FOR RAIN was a complete miss for me, I'm still eager to pick up other books in the genre. I'm hoping that one of these days, I'll find the right book for me.
