This book is a perfect followup to Angel Time. It had me on edge, wondering what was going to happen from one chapter to the next. The story was also beautifully narrated, making it an easy read. The only issue I have with this is the open ending. We don't know what happens next, if there is another mission or if Toby's past has finally come up to take him out. It's the not-knowing that bumped this down from a 5 to a 4 star review. I thought originally that we lost the next book because of Anne Rice's passing in 2021. However, as they wrote the first book in 2009 and the second in 2010, I don't think that's the case. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will explore more of what Anne Rice offers.
