I'll start with why Natural Law got off to a rocky start for me. Mac was kind of a jerk. He's a submissive, but he refuses to submit. He's cocky as heck and simply will not do as Violet says. His insubordination was really grating on my nerves. I was all too happy to have Violet punish him in creative ways, and watch Mac squirm. But as time went on, we learn more about Mac and why he is that way. Plus, Violet is a great Domme, even though she's new. She won't let Mac sweet talk her. She will break down his walls and get to the center of him.
Natural Law has a pretty involved plot as well as a great developing romance. There's a twist toward the middle which amped up the suspense and made things more dangerous. Mac needs to catch this murderer before she strikes again, especially when she sets her sights on him. I didn't guess who it was until right before the reveal, but their big speech about their motivation was shocking. There's a lot going on there that was very interesting.
I liked Natural Law a lot. There's a lot more sex and D/s play than the first book, which I really liked. In the beginning, it's mostly Violet doing things to Mac to get a real response out of him. But as their relationship develops, as does their sex life. There's also a few group scenes if that's your thing.
