James Solheim decided on a writing career when he had just finished second grade. He still has many of his childhood writings, and he even revised a poem he wrote in fifth grade for his book It’s Disgusting—and We Ate It! (Simon & Schuster). His second book, Santa’s Secrets Revealed (Carolrhoda) explains the secrets behind Santa Claus’s worldwide operations. He has a Master of Fine arts degree from The University of Iowa Writer’s Workshop, and has taught creative writing at Southern Illinois University and Washington University in Saint Louis.
