Geoff Lindsay hails from Warrnambool south-west of Melbourne. It was there he started cooking in 1981. He learned his trade at Stephanie's, where as head chef he gained experience in San Francisco, New York, Sydney, Los Angeles and London. In 1993 he left Stephanie's to team up with Andrew Blake and Grant Van Every at Blakes restaurant where he defined and refined his style. Stella is the result. Awarded the 'Best New Restaurant' in Victoria by the Age Good Food Guide and also by the American Express Restaurant Awards, standards have been maintained through 1996 with the coveted Three Chef's Hats award.
During 1997 Geoff will feature at both the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival's Masterclass in March, and the Masterclass to be held in Brisbane in July. He will be guest chef at the Lan Kwai Fong Food Festival in Hong Kong from 6-16 March. With partner Andrew Blake, there are plans afoot for a noodle shop called King of Noodles.
