Peter Tinniswood (1936-2003) was an English scriptwriter, known for his comedy writing on radio and television. His translation of Eduardo de Filippo's Napoli Milionaria is published by Methuen Drama in De Filippo: Four Plays.

Peter Tinniswood was born in Liverpool in December 1936. After leaving Manchester University he travelled and worked in Europe for a while until joining the Star in Sheffield in 1958.
In the early sixties he wrote radio and TV satire until abandoning his full-time writing career. He wrote his first novel 'A Touch of Daniel' which was published in 1969. He has since written numerous novels, stage, television and radio plays.
