Pucked Up was a fun read - even if it bordered on ridiculous a couple of times. I had fun getting to know Sunny and Miller better. Especially with the way Miller did't always think about who was taking pictures of him and where.

Pucked Up gives us more of the same type of humor and hijinks as Pucked.

I liked that we got to know a better side of Miller. My favorite parts were when he was doing his charitable work.

This book earned slightly less stars than book 1, because I sometimes found it drifting away from the storyline too often. I am not sure if Hunting was setting up a future book or if she did not have enough story for Buck and Sunny, but it put me off a little.

The book was still fun, hot, and silly with outrageous antics that made me giggle often.

Al principio, tuve la idea que Pucked Up sería un libro innecesario. Mi mayor interés al terminar Pucked, fue ver si este segundo seria continuación inmediata del primer libro y sus protagonistas, sobre todo porque se da a entender, por cómo termina el primero, que Sunny y Miller terminan juntos a su manera.

Pero como dice la misma Sunny en el libro, para todo hay una historia.

Pucked Up no fue un libro fácil de encariñarse al inicio, lo sentí alargado y Sunny no era particularmente alguien entrañable de leer. Lo que me recordó mucho a mi vida, no soy la persona más querible que hay, la verdad, al no gustarme mucho su personaje, sentía que traicionaba a todas las personas sin encanto como yo del mundo.

Irónicamente, este libro no es tanto sobre la chica, sino enteramente sobre la evolución del muchacho este (me cae bien, pero me gusta decir "muchacho este" :v). Y, digo irónicamente porque las historias NEW ADULT pocas veces le dan historia real al Bad Boy, muchas veces tienden a justificar lo machistas y violentos que llegan a ser, con un pasado oscuro y terrible.

Creo que por esto me gusta leer tanto a Helena Hunting, trae personajes con vidas o pasados normales, y si es triste, no es algo que los lleve a un comportamiento cruel.

En Pucked Up tenemos a Buck, un personaje que a diferencia de Alex, casi todo lo que dice la prensa sobre él es verdad. ¿Que lo hace interesante? No el haber sido mujeriego, sino sus acciones al transcurso del libro. Miller vive con dislexia y la escritora lo incluye al cabo de todo el libro, pero no como algo en lo que él se deprima alrededor, sino nos enseña cómo es que vive con su condición.

Helena Hunting se está ganando un lugar especial en mi inexistente corazón, trayendo personajes con alguna enfermedad/discapacidad.

Mi problema durante todo el libro fue Sunny, me entere que lo poquito que me gusto de ella en el libro anterior, era porque estaba borracha :v Además, no sentí química entre los dos, me dio la sensación que Miller estaría mejor sin ella. Este tipo de sentimientos generalmente los tengo cuando leo desde el POV de la protagonista, lo dije en Goodreads, casi siempre termino pensando: "Okay, solo soportaré al muchacho este porque te hace feliz, pero lo podrías hacer mejor". Ya por el final entendí mejor a Sunny, aunque nunca será mi heroína favorita, si soy sincera. No me gusta como todo el mundo a su alrededor tiene la voz cantante en sus decisiones, me hubiera gustada conocer su versión, aunque quizás habría sido una narradora pesada. Tal vez fue muy buena decisión el no incluirla como narradora.

Otra cosa muy, muy resaltante de Pucked Up, es la relación Miller x Violet, no son hermanos de sangre, pero no hay manera que estos dos no sean hermanos en las formas que importan. Cuando tienes hermanos, solo hay una filosofía para poder vivir con ellos: "solo yo puedo matar a mi hermano/a". O el que supieran sus costumbres higiénicas. Si tienes hermanos, entenderás de lo que hablo, LOS LIMITES NO EXISTEN a veces.

Si, Violet y Alex aparecen, bastante, y puedo decir que a pesar de no ser centrales, puedes notar que esas cosas que hicieron tan especiales y únicos a estos dos tipos raros, sigue estando ahí, Helena no se olvidó de ellos dándole un irreal final. Me gusta.

En lo que va de la serie me gusto como historia de Miller, pero siento que como romance falla varias veces, aun así es una historia que me ha gustado bastante.

What I loved: Buck was NOT a character I was dying to get to know after reading Pucked. In fact, I almost passed on this book because it was about him and Sunny and frankly, I didn't care about them at all. Buck was a major manwhore and Sunny just didn't seem that likable to me. But, I loved Pucked and decided to give it a go. Pucked Up is more than just a book about hockey and sex. Miller/Buck becomes one of the most likable characters I have read in a book. He struggles with dyslexia and has never been good at school or other things that involve reading (texting, reading emails, etc). You really get to see how much he struggled and how he tried to cope with his disability throughout his life. I am a special education teacher so all the things Buck struggled with I truly understood! You can't help but want to hug the Yeti! Sunny wasn't my favorite character. She grew on me as the book went on, but even by the end I didn't totally love her. I liked her more than I did originally but she paled in comparison to Buck.
And all of this made me realize I want another Alex/Vi story!! I found myself desperate to know what was going on with them. I am excited about book three. I think it will be Randy and Lily's book.

I loved Pucked. There were so many laugh out loud moments and Violet had me dying. So when Pucked Up made it to my Kindle, I couldn't wait to start it. Unfortunately, Pucked Up fell flat to me. Sure, there were some moments where I chuckled (pretty much the Buck and Violet moments), but it wasn't the same. Full review to come.
