This book is magnificent! However, the pacing is very slow in between chapters, hence it earns 4 stars. Nevertheless, I will recommend this book to anyone who appreciates reading a fantasy novel based on prophecy, magic, dragons and other mystical creatures.

 

"Breaking Free: The Planet Prophecies. Part 1 of The Tribal Era" explores the magical and intriguing world of Entisha. This world is divided into the Dragon tribes and the Phoenix tribes. Each additional tribe that originates from these two tribes has their own unique gifts, skill sets, language, norms, and traditions. This book transports me back to my high school days of reading the "Harry Potter" series. It is full of magic, tragedy, danger, suspense, drama, action, and a bit of mayhem. It even has a tiny sprinkling of romance potential. This book has three main characters, and many significant secondary characters. Join Drake, Dirk and Mezz as they journey to the land of Micus, to possibly confront a tyrannical king, Thagnon, and deliver an important prophetic message from their god.

 

Drake is a wounded and jaded dragon slayer and former knight, who seeks revenge on those who wronged him in the past. Dirk's lifelong mission is to protect Mezz, after he loses his entire village in a horrific attack. Mezz fills his life with meaning and purpose. She is our strong female lead. She is faced with dangers, both seen and unseen. Mezz has to rely on her instincts, her companions, and her god for courage and guidance. Her role is very significant in the book. Let's just say, without her, our awesome adventure would end before it even got the chance to begin. I can't wait to see if she fulfills her quest in Micus.  

 

I am a little disappointed that Drake lost the opportunity to exact vengeance on King Eselbadd for all the things that he endured at this king's hands. I'm curious to find out how Drake and King Thagnon will settle their score. I am even more curious to discover Drake's intention for the Heaven's Eye. The wait and anticipation alone is keeping me hooked to this series. I hope it evolves into a trilogy, with some iconic battle scenes in between. I want to thank the writer, Anthony Hudgins, for his amazing writing skills. I eagerly await the second book.

I am pleasantly surprised by the breathtaking storyline that weaves this book together. "Breaking Free" takes readers on a fantasy-filled journey, brimming with adventure, romance, action, mythical creatures, secret societies, conspiracy, and magic. It has everything a successful fantasy novel needs in order for it to be well-received by its audience. The story has a sluggish start, but the pace drastically increases closer to the final chapters. It has a Lord-of-the-Rings feel to it, but this novel is so much more. It focuses on the land of Entisha, which is divided into multiple Dragon and Phoenix tribes. We cross paths with three characters who travel together to the Kingdom of Micus, which is part of the Dragon tribe's territory, I believe. Micus is also referred to as 'the Heart of Grath'. These three travelers are Dirk, Drake and Mezz. Dirk is a young man who is a survivalist, searching for a greater purpose in life. Drake is on a quest for revenge, and the ones who wronged him are located in the Kingdom of Micus. Mezz is one of the most intriguing characters in this book. She has been chosen by The Entity; which is the god of this world, to deliver a message to the inhabitants of Micus. Even though these three characters are the driving force behind the majority of the plot, the Order of the White Rabbit holds most of my attention. A short chapter is dedicated to this occult group. Yet there is such a dark, foreboding energy emanating from this group, and it fills me with anxiety as to the fate of our young heroes as they continue their journey Micus-ward. The Order of the White Rabbit is an unknown 'brotherhood-secret-society' type group. It is spearheaded by Lagomorph, whose true identity remains unknown even to his own followers. Gosh! This group might very well be the medieval version of the Illuminati or Freemasons. The agenda of this group is to use their supernatural knowledge to create enmity between the Dragon and Phoenix tribes, while reinforcing their dark strongholds throughout Entisha. They are the very enemies of The Entity. He represents goodness and light, while they represent evil and darkness. This group has already left me with an anxious feeling that will linger in my mind for many days. I look forward to the next installment in the series. This is excellent writing on behalf of the writer, Anthony Hudgins. He really brings life to his characters and the world he nurtures around them. Readers who love fantasy novels will enjoy this one for sure. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. Get your copy today, and enjoy this adventure-filled quest.

Their worlԁ, Entishа, is ԁiviԁeԁ into two mаin сlаns; the Drаgon аnԁ Phoenix сlаns, unԁer whiсh there is а smаller sub-ԁivision of multiple tribes, сultures аnԁ рeoрle. Our three mаin сhаrасters hаve lost а lot ԁuring their ԁiffiсult аnԁ ԁemаnԁing journey. Something tells me that they will lose even more аlong the wаy. But for now, fаte hаs brought them together to сonfront аn evil whiсh grows in the Kingԁom of Miсus. The tone of this book is serious аnԁ weighty. But there аre some wonԁerful, сomeԁiс moments in between, like...Mezz's аffeсtionаte niсknаme for Dirk, Gurm the Worm's сhаrасter introԁuсtion, аnԁ Dirk's suссessful аttemрt to аuсtion off a dead bulb bаt. All in аll, this book mаkes for аn exсiting, thrilling reаԁ. I give it 4 stаrs beсаuse it hаs а slow beginning аnԁ miԁԁle ԁeveloрment. Nonetheless, this doesn't аffeсt the storyline in аny wаy. The аuthor, Anthony Huԁgins, ԁoes а mаrvelous job of ԁesigning аnԁ inԁiviԁuаlizing these рowerful сhаrасters, аnԁ representing the mаny fаsсinаting tribes аnԁ сultures ԁesсribeԁ in this book.
