Quirky Cat
Summary:
In a single moment, the world became united in a war. At that moment, every military operation was attacked. At once. Now, they're all facing off against an unknown enemy. The only mercy is that the new soldiers fight through drones – or andrones, to be more specific.
Enter Sergeant Paxton Ares. He's a vet coming back to fight, and there are complex reasons for why he's choosing now. However, as rumors circulate the base about traitors and sympathizers, Paxton has to wonder about the truth of this war.
Review:
Huh. If there's one thing I can promise you, it's that Androne will make you think. It's a compelling science fiction novel with mecha-like elements (thanks to the Andrones). But it's also a little bit of a mystery. So there's something for everyone.
There are things I adored about this book. The characters, the sneaky way of putting the secrets out in the open, the Andrones, etc. They all made for a complex and interesting world that I had trouble leaving (why, yes, I will be reading the rest of this series!).
There are also parts I didn't love. Some plot points and events felt like they dragged on. It made it easy for me to take little breaks while reading, but generally, I prefer to stay invested the whole way through.
That said, I have no idea where this series will lead, so I'm looking forward to finding out.
Highlights:
Science Fiction
Military Fiction
Time Wars
Andrones/Drone Battles
