I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. The Wicked Truth is by far Melissa's sexiest read to date. In this the fourth book in the Dark Knights at Bayside series, Foster turned up the steam, cranked up the emotions and delivered lots of sexy and swoon worthy moments.
Oh, my! Tobias Riggs has completely captured my heart. From the moment of his introduction, his character consumed me. I needed to know what drove him and learn of the demons that haunted him. Recently released from prison, he came to the Cape to be close to one person who always believed in him. He had no intention of forming a connection with anyone. But then Madigan Wicked, with her confident and sassy nature, captured his attention. He knows he should stay away, but the intense connection between them drew them closer.
Now they both had no interest in a committed relationship. So it was quite interesting to see them so into each other. A relationship which began based solely on sex became so much more. As for Tobias, little did he know Madigan would be the woman to change his life.
Despite being hurt in the past, she possessed a light that encompasses all who get to know her. She shined her light into Tobias’s darkness, and you know what happens when light meets dark. In the end, he gained more that he had lost after going to prison.
Tobias held his pain close and only allowed Madigan a sliver of a glimpse into his past. So as their relationship grew in intensity, I waited with bated breath for the revelation. It was heartbreaking, but it helped to kick-start the healing process.
Family played a huge role in the story, which of course came as no surprise. Madigan’s family opened their hearts to Tobias, providing him with a sense of belonging. They showed him what it meant having a family, people who will have your back, even when you feel you don’t need it. This gave him the strength to face his own demons.
Besides the scorching sexy moments, readers should prepare for fun, flirty and sexy banter. Also, fair warning, one may need a box of tissues while reading.
I really enjoyed reading about the Dark Knights and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. Fans of the author will enjoy The Wicked Truth. Also, readers of contemporary romance who have yet to read a book by Foster, the Dark Knights, will be a good starting point. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading
