This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via NetGalley and for letting me take part in this tour. I really enjoyed the first book in this series. Tori Hunter is a great character and I couldn't wait to see what happened to her next. Although this is book 2 it can be read as a standalone.
Tori and Braddock worked really well together in the first book and I was very excited for this to continue. They are on the same wavelength and really understand how the other works. They have a great relationship both on and off the job which really helps.
I loved the little quotes at the beginning of each chapter. They gave you a little snipped into what was going to happen in the chapter.
With a missing child, there's always an element of being up against the clock. The first few hours are always the most important. With the bodies piling up and another girl being abducted the pressure was really picking up. The story is full of suspense and is very fast-paced. Tori and Will are up against it from the beginning.
This story has a unique and unusual motive. It was very interesting to see how far this stretched. I look forward to seeing what Roger put's Tori through next.
