This book was SO grim, from beginning to end. I'm not sure which other direction it could have taken - considering the bleak ending of the previous book - but I don't think there was any part of this book I actually enjoyed.
The structure and tone are so different from the other two, and Pip is almost unrecognisable in her unhinged downward spiral. That she doesn't even suspect the killer after that email is the single most unbelievable thing I've read.
A very disappointing end to an otherwise fantastic series.
