Yes, another DNF. No, I didn't just DNF seven books in a row, I'm cleaning my "currently-reading" shelf on GR lol

This one is a bit tricky for me because I just kind of randomly stopped reading and then didn't come back to it. There wasn't a conscious decision of stopping this because of a, b, c. It just... happened.

I can't say a lot about this book. I wasn't head-over-heels in love with the 66% that I read, because I did feel the book did a good job establishing they weren't attracted to each other and then arbitrary yelling "jk, they're now totally going to be drooling over each other!". I wanted that change to be more gradual, to make sense. Friends to lovers romances are wonderful... when done right.

But there also wasn't anything overly bad about it to warrant my dropping it. I dunno. It just happened, and I don't have the heart to pick it up again lol

A great friends to lovers romance. I am a sucker for these types of books, but what I really loved, were the flashbacks. We were presented with important milestones in their relationship throughout the years. The love, that was always there, was slowly revealed to us. So many fun moments, so many lusty moments, so many angsty moments. Loved it!

I hadn’t heard of this book or author until Ames brought it to my attention. Then Holly told me that I had to read it because it was super cute so after reading the blurb, I was sold. I wasted no time in getting this book started and the hype around this book was spot on because I loved this book.

Arizona and Carter have been best friends since 4th grade and their relationship was completely platonic…until one night. Their night together was not supposed to turn into a regular thing but there are also some things that you just can’t help. Like, falling in love with your best friend.

Holy cow this book was an enjoyable read. I really liked seeing the foundation of Arizona and Carter’s friendship when they were kids and seeing their friendship grow and grow over the years. I loved seeing how everyone was so confused about their friendship and how Carter and Arizona didn’t care. They were best friends and that was that. When their relationship changes, I enjoyed seeing them struggle to figure things out. I loved that they both had separate lives from each other and weren’t always in each other’s pockets and I really loved what Carter did for Arizona.

Arizona was such a funny heroine. I liked her from the very beginning and even when she’s being a bonehead, I liked her. I liked her personality, her sense of humor and I loved that once her feelings were crystal clear, she didn’t waste time telling Carter. She didn’t care that her timing was off, she didn’t care if it was inconvenient, they were her feeling and Carter was her best friend so he deserved to know.

Carter was such a swoon-worthy hero. I loved how sexy he was and how secure he was in himself. He wanted girls? He had them. He wanted to sleep with his best friend? He did. She wanted to pretend that the explosive sex they had didn’t happen and wouldn’t happen again? He let her. He was such a good friend and all around guy that I loved the hell out of him.

I really liked the way that they took care of each other. It wasn’t a lopsided friendship. If Carter needed company, Ari was there. Arizona needed someone to be on her side, Carter was. Gracia-Williams did a great job of showing us how much love was already between Carter and Arizona before they crossed the line from friends to lovers. She also did a great job of keeping their new relationship status interesting and the sexual chemistry between the two was hot.

I really liked this book. It was a great introduction to Whitney Gracia-William’s works and I’m anxious for more from her. This was a wonderfully entertaining and steamy romance that I adored.

I loved Arizona and Carter. I loved how clueless they were about each other. I loved how their best friend astounded everyone but each other, standing the test of time. And I loved how Whitney G proved, through flashbacks, that these two truly were meant for each other from the moment they met in fourth grade.

Another amazing story from an author who is on my autobuy list. Definitely one to pick up.

So, I received this book Sunday night and I read over 60% of it that night.  I finally had to force myself to put the Kindle down, turn off the light and go to sleep.  It was like 12:30-1amish and I had to be somewhat mentally present on Monday.  I finished it Monday night needless to say.

The reason I couldn't put it down was that I just had to know how Ms. Williams was going to take Ari and Carter from best friends to lovers without torching the friendship.  That's the main fear in the friends to lovers trope, if they get involved, the friendship will suffer.

Ari and Carter find themselves single at the same time and having odd feelings for each other.  The "hey, she is really beautiful and I want to get her naked" kind of feelings.  The funny thing is, once they give in to the new feelings, they are both in denial over what happened.  They refuse to talk about it.  Many times, once that line is crossed, the tired trope of "well, it's a one-time thing" gets dragged out.  Not so with Sincerely, Carter.  Ms. Williams lets her characters feel the natural pull towards each other and lets them act on that pull whenever they feel like it.

Interspersed through the present day happenings are letters that Ari and Carter have written to each other since they were kids.  I loved them, they really added a history and depth to their friendship and developing relationship. Be aware that Carter is not Andrew Hamilton.  While he is dominating and a bit rough in the bedroom, he is allll Carter.

Sincerely, Carter is the ultimate friends to lovers tale with lots of hot sexy times thrown in and I enjoyed Ms. William's (Whitney G.) foray into the genre.
