No need to fix the Unfixable.

When I last left Willa she was off to college and in a steady relationship. That was in Protecting What is His. Now Willa is a successful photographer, recently broken up with her longtime boyfriend and on her way to Dublin for 2 weeks a chance of a lifetime. Deciding that this trip is just what she needs to get over a relationship she called off. Willa’s life was never easy; having a prostitute for a mother and a sister that gave up everything just to keep her safe has left her feeling that she can never be loved because she feels broken. Until that is when she meets Shane Claymore. The last thing he wants to have his pub invaded by and American know it all. Willa by no fault of her own gets involved with the family trying to save the family bar. She also has a little fun with Shane’s young impressionable sister and forgetful mother. Shane sees right through Willa’s attitude and wants to fix what she thinks is unfixable. Shane is just what Willa needs, he is hot and he has an accent to die for. I swear I could hear it coming through the pages when I was reading. Shane and Willa have become one of my favorite Tessa Bailey couples.

I suggest reading Protecting What’s His first, although you don’t have to but it will show you more of why Willa is Willa. But either way this book was great.

Excellent foray into the NA genre by Tessa Bailey. As with every other book she's written, I loved this one.

I received an ARC through NetGalley.

Unfixable is the story of Willa, who believes she is just that. She never knew her father, and her mother was a junkie and a prostitute. When she breaks up with her boyfriend of two years, she feels like a hopeless cause who can never loved or be loved by anyone but her sister. I was ready to be completely annoyed with Willa, especially because she's also "edgy" and has no female friends, but she surprised me. She wins a contest and gets sent to Ireland for a month, which is where she discovers herself...thanks to a man. Cliche, but I enjoyed it.

Willa was quite a downer at the beginning of Unfixable. To me, her life didn't seem as bad as she was making it out to be. Of course, suffering is not a competition, but still. Sure her childhood was awful, but her sister rescued them, and things have been great. She just refuses to move on, and uses her ex-boyfriend as an excuse since he supposedly treated her like a fixer-upper. I think she just gave up and got a kick out of being pitied. Then she meets Colin Farrell Shane Claymore, who pushes all of her buttons, and doesn't put up with her crap. He knows all about regret, and gets Willa to open up and actually start living her life with confidence.

The romance of Unfixable is a mild case of enemies-to-lovers. Shane and Willa get off to a rough start, since he's in a crappy mood and she's in no mood for his crappy mood. Needless to say, the attraction was still there. She tries to avoid him, but it's hard when she's stay at the inn that his family owns. Eventually that sexual tension just explodes. I will admit, that I found their later scenes together very sexy. Shane definitely knows what he's doing, and I liked that Willa didn't get all apologetic for enjoying sex and wanting it whenever she could get it.

I liked Unfixable. I liked seeing Willa go from a Debbie Downer, to a young woman living her dream (she's a photographer). I loved Shane and the sex with Shane. I just wish we had gotten to know him a little better, other than what he tells Willa. I was a bit disappointed that there was no alternating POV, but the focus is on Willa's growth.
