What is a healthy diet for a toddler? The latest health advice for adults - low fat, high fibre - is completely wrong for a young child leading to the recent news in the media of "muesli-belt malnutrition". So toddlers need foods which are high in fat and low in fibre. They burn up a phenomenal amount of calories and need high carbohydrate meals - little and often. The volume gives advice to parents of fussy eaters and tips on "toddler passions": - foods they love including avocado pear, pasta, fruit, rice and baked potatoes. Another key issue the book explores is about sugar and additives in packaged foods with a strong warning to parents. Baby foods are controlled by government guidelines - not so toddler foods.
