Amanda doesn't date butch women, and Michelle doesn't date actresses. But Departure from the Script finds them breaking their dating rules after the two meet at an Anti-Valentine's Day party. Amanda doesn't exactly remember their meeting, since she had a bit too much to drink after escaping the date from hell, but she finds herself drawn to Michelle and willing to explore their instant connection. At the same time, Amanda's acting career is finally taking off, and she isn't sure if she should make her relationship with Michelle public for fear of being typecasted or outcasted by Hollywood.

Departure from the Script was a super cute and fast read! I was immediately hooked while reading about Amanda's awful date on Valentine's Day. From there it moved along at a nice pace, and I found myself smiling a lot at Amanda and Michelle's interactions. Both of them are realizing that they shouldn't stereotype and are possibly missing out on something great. I'm also glad that there wasn't a huge drama to break them up. I assumed that Amanda struggling with whether to be out or not at her new job would be a source of conflict, but I really liked how it ended up playing out. It was refreshing.

I don't want to give too much away since Departure from the Script is really short, so I'll just say that it was a super sweet F/F Romance and I'd highly recommend it to all Romance fans. I also really enjoyed Amanda's grandmother who tends to meddle, but is ultimately looking out for her granddaughter.
