I received this book for free from Obsidian in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
I loved all the crime investigation in the book. There were a few different murders that Abby and her friends were investigating, and it was interesting to see how they went about finding evidence to put the bad people away.
There were references to the various CSI shows, as well as Finding Nemo. There is a lot of swearing in the book, which doesn't bother me at all. And it adds humor in that every time Abby swears, even in her own mind, she has to pay 25 cents to a swear jar.
I liked getting to know Abby and her friends. Besides Abby, I think my favorite characters were Candice and Skylar. Abby's dogs names were fairly weird and threw me out of the story in the beginning, but towards the end of the book I was able to skim over the names and keep reading. (Eggy and Tuttle? I kept reading Tuttle as "turtle" and Eggy was just strange. But that's most likely me.)
I guessed who Noah's killer was early on, but I wasn't sure why until towards half-way through the book or so. It was still good enough to keep my attention, and I liked how the reveal at the end was done.
If you like crime scene investigation type books, you should definitely give this series a try.
