Rafe and Olivia met while Rafe was in police college, fell in love, got married and returned to the small town that he grew up in. After many ups and downs in their relationship, they finally divorced. When Olivia tells Rafe that she is done with the back and forth fighting and planning on moving he becomes determined to figure out how to fix things and win back his wife before it's too late and she is gone for good.
I am on the fence regarding this book as no matter how much I tried, I just could not connect with the main characters and felt more interested in the side characters. Rafe and Olivia clearly still love each other and there is sexual tension between them when they are together but they are like oil and water that they also fight constantly. I did enjoy the writing and the setting of Northern Ontario that it made it easy to connect and picture the small town with living in small-town Ontario myself. Zoe York is a new to me author.
