The plost of this book was very similar to the first installment in this series, and I really missed some more action. I felt certain that there'd be a climax (pun intended), but no. The last two chapters though, but still. 17 chapters of nothing. That's just a no go.
Cary was still the most enjoyable character. He's absolutely amazing! If you asked me, I'd love if Sylvia Day would write a spin-off series with Cary as the main character - that'd probably work better if it weren't erotica though.
So tell me this: when will we see women who actually stands up for themself in this genre? I'd like to read one of those! I want to be able to identify myself with the characters, and I really can't with Eva - or any other character in this book, for that matter. Furthermore, I'd like a man who treats women with respect.

After re-reading the first book this since I finally bought the last book in the series. I really forgot how much I loved this one. It has everything one could want in a book. A great plot, great writing, great setting and great characters. Not only are both of the main characters awesome, but so are all the side characters. But don't be fooled. This is not an entirely light read. At times it can be pretty dark.
Since their relationship is fairly new, their love is all consuming, raw, and possessive with them constantly craving each other’s affection and touch. The trust issue plays a big role in the story, with the bouts of jealousy and self-doubt and ultimately lead to a highly charged chemistry that’s both passionate and addictive.
I loved re-reading this book, and series again. Definitely a good series to read. I recommend it.

Reflected in You was both an amazing and difficult book for me to get through. It had many of the same elements as Bared to You—the sexiness, the intensity, and the emotional drama... But it was also ten times more frustrating!
To start with, Gideon began closing himself off. In Bared to You things were difficult for Gideon and Eva, but they communicated extremely well. Gideon's communication completely went out the window in Reflected in You. He was hiding things from Eva for seemingly no reason. It all comes together and makes sense in the end, but it doesn't change the fact that I was frustrated as hell for 98% of the book. That is the exact percentage by the way—I checked on my Kindle. Gideon hides a massive secret for the entire book. Eva is pissed. Eva's friends are pissed. I'm fucking pissed... I honestly just sat there wondering, "What happened to the amazing communication I talked about in Bared to You??"
Gideon plays the entire book hot and cold. One minute he's confessing his never-ending affections for Eva, proclaiming that she "saved him" and among other things.. and the next, he's totally ignoring her. Cue hair pulling. It took so long for the truth to come out that I literally thought the story would just leave us hanging, and that annoyed me (though it didn't end up happening).
Even though everything works out at the end, I feel like it wasn't enough to rescue my enjoyment of the book. I was pissed off and frustrated for too long. I still enjoyed Reflected in You—just not to the same extent as Bared to You. At around the 70% mark, I actually started noting down all the unanswered questions in fear that they wouldn't be resolved, and I wanted to be able to check back and remember whether or not they were. Luckily, I think all of my questions were resolved to some extent (some not satisfyingly so), but it just took too damn long.
Reflected in You was the hot, steamy sex story I hoped it would be. Emotions are high, stakes are high, and two young people are struggling to make a chaotic, broken relationship work. It's intense, it's hot.. and it's frustrating as hell. Sometimes I was pissed off and wishing I'd just get some answers, and sometimes I was nearly brimming with tears. This book yanked me in a thousand different directions! The downside is that it did read like a bit of a filler book. In hindsight, not much actually happens. It's the same problems from Bared to You but different scenarios. Different ways for Eva to doubt Gideon's loyalty. Different ways for Gideon to feel possessive and controlling. The same way for them to reconcile again and again (sex, and more sex). On the bright side, Reflected in You was good enough to keep me hooked and I read it nearly in one sitting.
Reflected in You was still hot and sexy and emotional, but I was looking for something new. I am hoping the third book will be better and give us more new material to work with!.

With all the hoopla around Bared to You and it's similarity to Fifty Shades of Grey, I wasn't sure where this second installment was going to go. But Sylvia Day took this story in a direction I certainly didn't think it would go, but it demonstrated the lengths our couple have to go through to prove what they have is real.
Gideon and Eva are trying to build a somewhat normal relationship out of the ashes of their tragic pasts. They both have so many issues it's sometime hard to keep track of all of them. But at the core of their relationship is knowing they have truly found "the one" and figuring out just how they manage to keep their relationship together without pushing each other over the edge. It's not an easy task for each of them.
Gideon, for the majority of the time, is closed off, possessive and pushes Eva away. Eva is just as possessive, but she doesn't trust Gideon and his feeling for her. That is why she has a hard time believing him when he tells her he'd do 'anything' for her. She figures it's his way of controlling her and their relationship. While I could understand why Eva would feel the way she did (Gideon really is an ass for the majority of this book), I found myself getting irritated with her because she was just so willing to toss Gideon aside each and every time he got her back up. Not very mature for a woman who is trying to lead an adult life.
Gideon isn't a saint. He uses sex to get Eva to admit to hurt feelings and punishing him. Despite that, you can sense Gideon's struggle with the depth of his feelings for Eva and just how he's supposed to express that when Eva finds those three little words so important. Actions speak louder than words (which I think Eva finally gets at the end) but for two people how constantly need validation from each other you can see how hard it is for Gideon.
There are a some ups and a lot of downs with this story. Gideon and Eva run the gamut of emotions and those filter off of the page to the reader. But for all their issues, this is a couple that I'm committed to seeing to their HEA. For that, I must wait for the last installment, Entwined with You, due out at the end of the year.
