I really enjoyed One More Time. It was a fairly short listen as I only downloaded to my phone this morning. Saying that, I did put in a little extra time as I was so desperate to see these characters work through their problems. It was the old...broke up because they didn't talk their problems out. Sure, I get that you need to learn the value of communicating, but dear me, it would be a pleasure to read a romance now and again where that's not the major plot point.
As an Aussie, I find it pretty amusing to hear people attempt to talk with an Aussie accent. Erin Mallon does a surprisingly good Aussie accent, but what was even more interesting, is that she does a fantastic male voice. I was even questioning whether it was her or Rupert in some of her scenes. Rupert is VERY easy to listen to. He has a clear Australian accent that's not OTT and even reminds me a little of Chris Hemsworth. Considering that Erin and Rupert have never actually met, they make you feel like they've known each other for years and were working right beside each other. A great combination.
It's always interesting to me to see how the famous live. I absolutely LOVE that the author brings a bit of reality to their characters. They have to work at maintaining their bodies and follow a fairly strict diet too. It makes sense that something as simple as a trip to the beach would be a mistake. No, not for the paparazzi or security risks. One of the main reasons to avoid the beach...getting too much sun and either burning or tanning. Too much extra work for the makeup artists to cover up. So, maybe it's not all glam and glitz being a movie star.
Once the problems of the past had been dealt with and this couple finally communicated with each other, they were perfect together. I enjoyed seeing their sweet romance play out.
I hope to hear more stories with Erin and Rupert narrating, in the future.
