[a:Nancy Willard|13454|Nancy Willard|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-F-50x66.jpg] seems to be quite the poet as is proven by her Newberry Medal for [b:A Visit to William Blake's Inn: Poems for Innocent and Experienced Travelers|530582|A Visit to William Blake's Inn Poems for Innocent and Experienced Travelers|Nancy Willard|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1175566563s/530582.jpg|1799679]. Within the pages of [b:A Starlit Snowfall|11051241|A Starlit Snowfall|Nancy Willard|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327947561s/11051241.jpg|15972296] she provides such rhythm and rhyme to tease and entertain th senses which makes this book a delight to read aloud. With the pictures from one of my favorite artists [a:Jerry Pinkney|70868|Jerry Pinkney|http://www.goodreads.com/images/nophoto/nophoto-M-50x66.jpg], minutes are sure to pass unwittingly as the imagination is captured and taken to a snowy wintery land unknown in nature.
Where previously published in hardcover in 1993 as [b:A Starlit Somersault Downhill|1518283|A Starlit Somersault Downhill|Nancy Willard|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1295290733s/1518283.jpg|2089327], parents like myself can take something from my elementary years to share with my children. Reading through this book with my daughter my imagination is tempted with the hussle of a restless rabbit as he goes forth to adventure and I can only assume AppleBlossom is intrigued as well considering she will not let the book go back on the shelf.
Definitely one for the "R" shelf and perhaps "season-winter" as well.
*Thanks to Little Brown & Co for providing a copy for review.*
