Lindsey Boxer has seen a lot of change. She is newly married but still working on the force. She feels guilty about the hours she works because it takes her away from her newly wedded bliss. The new case she is working is an especially grueling one. It effects Lindsey on a personal level.
A young girl was found in the middle of the road. She had very recently given birth and was on the verge of bleeding out. She has no memory of giving birth or where her baby might be. The clock ticks while Lindsey and her partner scramble to find the missing baby.
My Thoughts:
I was worried about 10th Anniversary yet I was still eager to read it. There didn't seem to be a lot of character development in 9th Judgment. As it turns out, there wasn't a big need to worry. A little bit of time is spent with each character and we see their personal and professional lives progress.
The story line was also really very good. It wasn't so much a who-dun-it as a what happened and how kind of mystery. For most of the book it seemed like wheels were spinning but no progress was being made. As the reader you clearly feel Lindsay's frustration.
Overall, I don't think it's necessary to read the first books of the series (though I think they may have been the best!). While 10th Anniversary was a good read, I think I'll be getting the next one from the library.
