*I received a free copy of A Perfect Lie from the author. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.*
I'm not sure what sub-genre to put A Perfect Lie in.. it has a little romance. It has some psychological thriller elements, and there are also some mystery.
Hailey tells her own story in the first person, and she switches between her present, and various instances of her past. Knowing only what Hailey wants to share makes the story really good - because not only does she choose what to share, she also can only share what she, herself, knows.
I enjoyed the story very much, especially because there was some high-end politics mixed in with everything else.
Hailey as a character might be unreliable, but she is definitely very relatable. Even with her life being so different from mine, I enjoyed A Perfect Lie immensely.
