Did I mention how happy I am that Kami Garcia is writing contemporary romances these days? I loved the Lovely Reckless, and I loved this one.

This was so much about Peyton's journey as she confronted what happened with her ex, as well as her father's death. As she found healing, she found way back to trusting herself.

I loved her cousins, her uncle, and obviously, Owen. He was an extraordinary hero, and Garcia pretty much devastated me, when his secret is revealed.

Endings are everything for me, and this one, I am happy to report left me with happy tears (after I shed some sad tears).

Another great contemporary from Garcia, and I hope she keeps them coming.

This is such an amazing book! It gave me all the feels. Heartbreak, adrenaline, hilarity, and down right Southern Charm. It also addresses the topic of domestic abuse. This book is so important because it helps to highlight the warning signs but also shows that you can still get your happily even after.

I really enjoyed reading this one, it was not life changing or anything.. but it was interesting and the problems seemed very real. I got into it very fast and even though I did not hold my attention throughout the whole novel, I really liked reading it. The MC was kick-ass and I really liked her narrative. Owen was oke... Did not feel much for him..
Really liked the Twins, great set of secondary characters !!
All in all a nice read :)

This does not affect our opinion of the book or the content of our review.I adored this book.  The subject matter was touchy, but Kami Garcia crafted a beautiful story of a strong girl who was determined and knew her own worth.

Peyton was on top of the world.  She had a conditional offer from the college she was dying to play for and her best friend and boyfriend supporting her.  But in the blink of an eye, the loving boyfriend she thought she had turned into someone else and Peyton's world turns upside down.

I loved Peyton and I loved how, despite having her best friend turn her back on her, she was determined to push forward.  She was also determined to not like living with her uncle and cousins but it was wonderful to see her embrace her family and her new friends along with the truth that there are people who believed in her.

Owen was a fantastic hero for Peyton.  He had his own demon he was fighting, but he gave Peyton that push to be more than the girl who's boyfriend stole her dreams.  It was a war between these two, but eventually, it was a war that proved to Peyton her worth.

A fabulous YA book that will pull you in and leave you with a smile at the very end.
