Lennon's story didn't disappoint in this highly anticipated fourth novel in the Preload series.

Lennon McCartney's early life was a nightmare and although given a second chance, the scars of his early childhood still run sufficiently deep for him to just wish his life away. During a journey to a gig, the tour coach crashes leading him to sustain life-changing injuries. However, with the assistance of a woman who cared for him at the scene of the accident, he's given reason to hope for a better future. Now he just has to take it.

Dr Georgia Starr is an esteemed neurosurgeon but despite her stellar reputation, she still doesn't garner the respect from her father in the same way her brothers do. When she witnesses a coach crash, she helps care for an injured man until emergency services arrived. Despite the difficult circumstances, his plight becomes her concern. Their lifestyle may be dissimilar, only, she sees a man she can help and in doing so, realises she's giving her heart to him too.

Although I'd only read one previous book in this series, Lennon for me is the character I wanted to get to know the most. As couplings go, he and Gia are not two people you'd expect to be in a relationship. With vastly differing backgrounds, why would they be? Yet, fate stepped in due to unforeseen and heartbreaking circumstances and brought them together. The result? They learn from each other about taking a gamble in life by not settling what is familiar, even if it seems like the right decision to make. Gia gives Lennon the courage to face his life-changing injuries head-on; to accept help to overcome his disabilities so he can get back to what he loves doing. In return, Gia realises that it is possible to be around people who love you for who you are and not what you are.

One outstanding aspect of this novel is the quality of the writing; from the dialogue to the facts provided within the narrative. The emotions of the protagonists can be felt by the reader along with caring attitudes of those close to Lennon and the frosty indifference shown by Gia's family. Of course, plenty of chances are provided to catch-up with the other band members and their significant others. Their banter is entertaining as always and adds another meaningful dimension to the overall enjoyment of this novel. This satisfying, unexpected romance, is both sexy and emotionally fulfilling and I couldn't be more happy for Lennon and Gia.

Lennon Reborn is the perfect ending to the Preload series! Heavy on emotions, this story was simply beautiful!

Story:

Lennon Reborn packed more than a few punches, and I was so emotionally involved in his story it was hard to put down. The story started with a loud bang, and includes some dark themes and might trigger some readers. If you want to know what kind of trigger, please contact me privately.

I think Lennon's backstory is the one that touched me the most. It's a wonder he could even function at all with all he had to go through as a young child, and then through several foster homes until he found the Preload guys.

Lennon Reborn not only touches on a lot of difficult themes, though. There is a lot of hope, a little romance, and a lot of personal work to make their own life better - both on Lennon's and Georgia's part. I'm not going to say much more, because I think that the story will have a greater impact on readers if they don't really know what to expect.

It's bittersweet to say goodbye to my Preload guys, but I hope Ms. Cole will grant her fans a wish for a little something with the band in the future. Plus, there was a little wink towards another series by Ms. Cole, and that also makes me think I haven't seen the last of this band yet.

Writing style :

Lennon Reborn is written in close third person perspective, with an omniscient narrator who follows Georgia and Lennon.

Feels :

My heart shattered, like completely. But it was also put together again - and I was able to breathe normally by the end.



But goddamn, that fucking smile of hers was going to kill him. It crept under the first layer of his skin. He wondered if she even realized the way the tip of her nose scrunched up when she was happy.

Easily a 5 star read.
Lennon and Georgia's story was so much more than I thought it was going to be. Lennon has been a hard nut to crack throughout this series, we always knew that he had some pretty heavy issues to deal with (as all of the guys do) But Lennon buried his issues deep and only let his brothers into his world. I have to say, that Lennon's childhood was devastatingly terrible. Thank goodness for Maisey, Ellen and the rest of the Preload brothers that have loved Lennon even when he felt completely unloveable.

Enter Dr. Georgia Starr, in the right place at the right time, she encounters the whole Preload gang. During that encounter, she connects with Lennon in a moment of danger and disaster and their lives are never the same.

Lennon gives Georgia the ability to relax and slow down. In turn, she gives Lennon a sense of comfort and calm that he has never experienced.

I truly adored Lennon and Georgia's love story but I also enjoyed Lennon's personal transformation. While he had his setbacks, he realized in order to move on and have a chance at a fulfilling life with Georgia, he had to do the work on himself.

Lennon Reborn was everything I'd hoped it would be a Ms. Cole gave Lennon the HEA he so richly deserved.
