After the intensity of the previous book, this one starts out at a different, more calm, pace, in a way which kept me waiting for the inevitable twist to happen. What did happen ended up being a rare "predictable in a satisfying way" kind of thing: an almost unavoidable calamity, but one that nevertheless felt satisfying, and that was executed in the best possible way. This book also has some of the most exciting and intense pages that I've read since... Well... The Expanse (the series this time).
The Frontiers Saga has gotten to the point where I'm now incredibly glad that I started reading these books, and I'm actively looking forward to seeing what's coming up. It has gone from being a somewhat light-weight space-opera to being a thrilling series around which quite an... expansive world is developing.
